1

With over thirty years experience as a psychotherapist, and as a graduate of Rosemead Graduate School of Psychology at Biola University she is currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise are treatment of depression, anxiety, trauma and identity issues.

Dr. Arrington is trained as an interactive, insight-oriented therapist as well as being trained in NARM (NeuroAffective Relational Model) and Somatic Experiencing®. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support, insight and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complementary methods and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.

Dr. Arrington utilizes NARM (NeuroAffective Relational Model) to support clients in learning to use a mindful awareness of experience in the present moment.  This is includes developing awareness of a “felt sense” (somatic mindfulness), thoughts and beliefs, and emotion.  This mindfulness is in the service of slowing down enough to notice patterns that helped us to survive in the past (and so we can appreciate them) but are constricting who we are and our full life energy now.

Through the gentle approach of Somatic Experiencing®, symptoms are addressed through supporting the release of trapped trauma energy, encouraging the expression of incomplete self-protective responses, and guiding the nervous system back into a state of healthy regulation. This is profoundly deep work that results in long-lasting changes in the nervous system.
