Dr. Lenora Roat Arrington is a licensed psychologist and Somatic Experiencing® Practioner (SEP), and maintains a private practice in Mount Airy, MD.
With over twenty-five years experience as a psychotherapist, and as a graduate of Rosemead Graduate School of Psychology at Biola University she is currently serving as private practitioner working with a broad spectrum of clients. Among her areas of expertise are treatment of depression, anxiety, trauma and identity issues.
Dr. Arrington is trained both as an interactive, insight-oriented therapist as well as in Somatic Experiencing®. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support, insight and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complementary methods and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing. Through the gentle approach of Somatic Experiencing®, symptoms are addressed through supporting the release of trapped trauma energy, encouraging the expression of incomplete self-protective responses, and guiding the nervous system back into a state of healthy regulation. This is profoundly deep work that results in long-lasting changes in the nervous system.
